Summer Cocktail Series: Elderflower Champagne Cocktail

Well hello lovely Detailz fans……I can’t believe Friday has rolled around once again! This weeks libation is just so perfect for a Naples Wedding I ABSOLUTELY had to feature this. I stumbled across this cocktail which was featured on a fabulous little blog called Zested & I’ve had my eye on this recipe for a while. It really does taste like vacation in a glass & is just as refreshing as a breath of fresh air!

It is so simple with a champagne base and gently stirred with St~ Germain, which is a french liqueur of elderflower blossoms which is just heavenly.

As a little side note…this particular brand of St~Germaine liqueur(see link below)has a special service, where you can email them the style and flair of your upcoming wedding and they will have one of there master mixologists concoct a specialty libation just for your event! Pretty Cool, huh?

Anyways….I digress….here is the recipe for the Elderflower Champagne Cocktail!

Fill a tumbler with ice Fill three-quarters of the glass with dry champagne or prosecco  Add thinly sliced cucumber and fresh mint. Top off with St-Germain.

Happy Friday!!

Summer Cocktail Series!

Our clients are always asking for fun signature drink suggestions, so I thought we would do a Friday series on our blog of some fun cocktail(and mocktail) ideas for your wedding or any party. Since we do so many weddings and events beachside here in Naples, the recipes will often be “tropical” inspired, but some of my favs aren’t necessarily tropical, so there will be a little something for everyone. Often times, our clients do two signature drinks, especially for weddings….where the bride & grooms top picks are offered as options.

Since it’s a HOT summer day here in Southwest Florida I thought I would try something with a tropical twist and was inspired by my Cuban roots. This martini has some great flavors like pineapple & coconut milk with a twist of Le Citron Grey Goose Vodka.  What I love about it is that since I used the coconut milk instead of the cream of coconut it’s not SUPER sweet! My recipe is below..if you’d like to give it a shot! If you do let us know how you enjoyed it!

Happy Friday!

Inspiration to Reality

Collage-final

Here at Detailz, Karen, our principal designer, finds inspiration for our events everywhere. She then takes those facets and blends them with the personality of the client to create a one-of-a-kind event, custom tailored for the bride and groom.

Below is Karen’s “inspiration board” for our vintage-themed wedding based on a fabric print by Liberty of London (the first item on the board):

Madi, our Envelopments design guru, loves to incorporate these elements into each event’s paper products, such as invitations, itineraries, programs, menus, and place cards. Here are Madi’s creations for the same event: Stay tuned for more images showing all of the Detailz of the resulting event. We will showcase how we incorporated the elements from the original inspiration board with Karen’s twists to give our clients an event like never before.

Crystal Inspired Wedding-Sneak Peek!

We just did our most unique wedding here at Detailz Events….and it was an amazing day! Our bride and groom, live in Colorado….love all things nature and wanted to use beautiful crystals throughout their decor. We’re not talking shiny Swarovski type crystals…we’re talking rocklike crystals you’d find in caves! We melded the colors of the room(turquoise/sand/white) with the crystals and nature inspired textures like ferns, wood, mushrooms, succulents, etc. and came up with a really refreshing organic design. There are going to be some AMAZING pics to share in the near future….but we just wanted to share this sneak peek from this wedding with our fellow readers.

Check back soon!

* a very special thanks to Astrid & Renee for the lovely picture

Seaside Wedding at La Playa Beach and Golf Resort

Well, as promised, I wanted to share more beautiful images from the Francis/Williams wedding at La Playa. They were such a relaxed couple who didn’t let the detailz of the day overshadow the importance of the occasion. They laid back and enjoyed the day, while we took care of all the essentials…….the result was absolutely beautiful. The photographer, Natasha Cuevas, did an amazing job of catching unexpected moments and details, she captures light in a beautiful way….I could go on and on, but I will let you simply enjoy.

Wishing Taryn & Ben and all our readers a very Happy New Year!

Unique Graphic art for your wedding or home……

I came across this artist…Alex Sturrock. Alex is a writer and former magazine editor turned sign artist, who has a passion for words, graphic design and making the new look old. I love the idea of using one of their 12″X24″ pieces as a backdrop of a well wish or guest book table. Alex also creates charming little Mr. and Mrs. signs that can be hung on your chairs at the reception.

I love art that can be personalized….so I think I am going to have one made with me and my husband’s anniversary, birthdays of our children, special places to both of us and even wise words to live by…

Take a minute to check out Alex’s online shop……http://www.etsy.com/shop/SignsofVintage
