Wedding Day Makeup

Guest post by Naples makeup artist Hope Henderson of www.hopeartistry.com:

The #1 thing I tell my bridal clients is that they should feel like themselves on their wedding day – just a more glamorous version. The idea of wedding makeup is not to try something new or to follow the latest trends. You want to look in the mirror and feel stunning, not wonder whether the groom will recognize you. If you have a makeup artist, tell them what you wear on a day-to-day basis so they have a good idea of where your comfort level is at.

Some tips of glamming it up:

The first thing to fade away in photos is your skin. If you normally wear blush or bronzer, make sure you contour your cheekbones as well on your wedding day.Use a powder that is 1-2 shades darker than your natural skin tone. Trust me, it will make you look thinner and not washed out in photos! Fill in your eyebrows. Believe it or not your eyebrows are the most important feature on your face. They complete the look and bring everything together. You can use a powder or a pencil. NARS eyebrow pencil is water resistant so it?s long wearing and comes in 3 different shades! Don’t be afraid of false lashes! None of my clients are allowed to say no to lashes until they try them. Once they try them they are hooked! You don’t have to wear dramatic lashes, just long enough to emphasize your eyes. MAC #33′s Read More…

One Word…….Lovely

As I was perusing UK Vogue I stumbled upon these gorgeous images by fashion designer Jenny Packham. She has dressed the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez(no-we’re not related), and Miley Cyrus. I will let the images speak for themselves….the gowns are absolutely beautiful and the photography, by legendary Ellen Von Unwerth is stunning…..

Bridal Headpieces

Fashion is one of my loves…..bridal fashion week was just a few weeks ago and there will be more to come. I have discovered this fantastically creative designer who makes lovely headpieces that are so untypical.

We love to support other women who have brought their talents and their art to life through their own businesses and Lauren of Lo Boheme is one of those talented artists. Lo Boheme sprung from her own wedding just over two years ago. In search of a unique personal gift for her nine bridesmaids, Lauren created one of a kind hairpieces made from vintage velvet flowers found in boarded up millinery warehouses in France and Germany. These types of creative personal touches flourished throughout Lo and Josh’s wedding. After rave reviews from guests and vendors, “Lo Boheme”  the company was born, although Lo, the little lady with a unique vision and Bohemian spirit had been designing and creating for years!

We hope you find some inspiration in these beautiful images…..Enjoy!
