I must say that one of our very favorite couples to work with was Brooke & Loren…..and we can’t forget Brooke’s lovely mother Sherri, who just wanted everything to be perfect for her only daughter’s wedding. Brooke is truly one of those gracious girls who is just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside….and Loren is a really fun, quick witted guy who adores his new bride  Attached is a gorgeous wedding day video taken by Voila Cinematic…They really did a fantastic job capturing the spirit of the day. I often encourage brides and grooms to try to capture at least a few of the key moments on film, this is one of those days in your life that the most important people in your life come together and in the years ahead it will truly warm your heart to remember those moments you not only shared with your bride or groom but the people who matter the most to you. It’s also a really cool memory to share with your kids someday….trust me they’ll love watching it even if they’re giggling! We have more images we want to share soon from this wedding, but we wanted to share this amazing video so you can see how tasteful and how reflective a video can be of your personality.

 The Naples Winter Wine Festival is one of the most prestigious & world-renowned wine festivals and is also one of the largest grossing charitable events in the nation. It is a weekend long festival and on Friday evening some of the most amazing vintners and chefs from around the world join forces to produce private dinners all throughout Naples. The Wine fest raises funds for the Naples Children & Education Foundation, and has supported all sorts of programs benefiting children’s organizations with millions of dollars. For several years now, Detailz Events has had the distinct privilege of planning and designing these events alongside some of the greats in the Vintner & Culinary worlds.
The dinner we are featuring in this post was set in a beautiful oceanfront high-rise that housed some of the most amazing modern art pieces I have ever seen, by some of the art worlds most renowned artists. So, we wanted our tabletop design to play off the art that held such a special place in the home’s decor. I have to say this one of the most difficult events I have ever designed. It was an incredibly fine balance between complementing and enhancing some of the most amazing artwork that literally sat just a few feet away from the dining tables…..but I hope you will agree, the final result was a sophisticated, clean design, that added a little sparkle to an amazing evening.

Here at Detailz Events, Ashley Brockinton and her husband Sam are one of our favorite photography teams. They recently unveiled their newest project, Bash Booths! This is not a typical blog post for Detailz Events, but this is a question A LOT of newly engaged couples ask me when they catch me face to face……in the midst of the excitement just after you get engaged, a few butterflies start fluttering as you think to yourself, “What do I do now?” The options and decisions to be made can seem ENDLESS!
Once you settle on what area you want to get married in, you need to select how large a wedding and start thinking about what “feel” you are after.
Will it be:
- an intimate beach wedding?
- church/sophisticated club reception?
- a elegant garden wedding?
Then of course, you need to sit down and figure out a ballpark budget that you are comfortable with. If this is a destination event especially, one of the very first vendors you should consider if your budget allows is a wedding planner/designer. NO- this is not a shameless plug After doing destination weddings for almost a decade in Naples and Southwest Florida, we have had brides & grooms come to us at very different stages in the planning process. Some of the smoothest productions we have put together have been a result of couples who brought us on from the beginning. Some have even used our assistance in finding a venue. A lot of people don’t think to get a planner before they choose their locations, but if you utilize a planner’s years of experience in a local market, they can steer you in the right direction or even make you aware of a venue you didn’t even know existed! We know a lot of the ins and outs, rules, hidden costs, and obstacles that come with venues that couples would not possibly be aware of until they were months into the planning process of their wedding day. Sometimes these glitches can result in you having a lot less options because you are contractually bound, which at times can boil down to spending more money on items you could have gotten for less elsewhere.
A lot of venues are willing to negotiate these “glitches” if approached BEFORE you sign a contract securing your venue….but if you don’t think to ask, you usually won’t get anywhere if you approach them with this months after you’ve contracted their venue for your wedding.
 We also make it our business to find out who is new on the scene and if they have something great to offer we let our clients in on it. We ask you questions trying to determine your personal style, your budget, etc. and match you up with vendors ranging from photographers, bands, caterers & videographers, etc.This not only applies to your venue but some of the other important vendors that will have a major impact on your day. Even if you are local, it’s very possible you aren’t in the industry. As wedding planners/designers, we make it our business to know the reputations, the quality, the value of the services and goods that vendors are providing for local events.
 As you can see, from the moment you are engaged, there are a lot of important aspects to consider when starting to plan a wedding. I hope you find this post valuable when embarking on your journey of planning the wedding of your dreams! I also hope can see why an experienced wedding planner/designer can be a priceless asset to have on your team as you start making decisions regarding vendors and the hidden issues ::ahem, COSTS:: that may arise down the road if not considered from the beginning.

Here at Detailz, Karen, our principal designer, finds inspiration for our events everywhere. She then takes those facets and blends them with the personality of the client to create a one-of-a-kind event, custom tailored for the bride and groom.

Well…..I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus through the summer but we are seriously BACK in the full swing of season here in Naples! Doing weddings, birthdays, wine fest dinners….oh my!! We could not let another day pass without highlighting a very special day!!
It is no secret that our loyal assistant holds a very special place in our hearts here at Detailz Events……and this past summer she tied the knot with a great guy-Bruce! We of course were on hand to help with all the little “Detailz” that were important to them…….and I think the day turned out quite lovely!
Our VERY VERY best to you both…….we were so glad to help make your day special and wish you both a lifetime of happiness & joy together!!!!

This past season we had the distinct pleasure of working with Gulf Shore Life magazine & staged a party at a former working boathouse on Port Royal’s waterfront. The house had historic charm and a quiet waterfront view on the backside of the house. Yet the front of the home was graced with a sprawling lawn, an intimate gazebo, and a quaint deck overlooking a small plunge pool…..can anyone say..ahhhh!
We set the stage for a lawn party and dinner at this amazing hidden gem and our friends Karl & Nanette from Luminaire Foto helped capture the beautiful Detailz we would like to share with you below. We hope you enjoy this eye-candy and find your little bit of paradise wherever you may be!

We just did our most unique wedding here at Detailz Events….and it was an amazing day! Our bride and groom, live in Colorado….love all things nature and wanted to use beautiful crystals throughout their decor. We’re not talking shiny Swarovski type crystals…we’re talking rocklike crystals you’d find in caves! We melded the colors of the room(turquoise/sand/white) with the crystals and nature inspired textures like ferns, wood, mushrooms, succulents, etc. and came up with a really refreshing organic design. There are going to be some AMAZING pics to share in the near future….but we just wanted to share this sneak peek from this wedding with our fellow readers.

Well, we are in the height of our season right now, so I must make this short and sweet, but a few weeks ago we did a wedding for a well-traveled couple who had guests flying in from all over the world. The bride & groom live in London and the bride had found some Liberty of London fabric that became the starting point of our design for this wedding. We mixed in some natural flax linen, orange & yellow silk, vintage touches and the results were fresh as a Spring day! Enjoy this bit of eye candy and check back again for more of the Detailz that went into this wedding!
